Living On A Boat – Is It Easy? Feb 26

It can be a great experience to live on a boat, as long as you don’t mind a little isolation and you aren’t afraid of a little bit of water! In all seriousness, some people love the idea of living on a boat only to find out just how terrifying the reality is when they are being rocked around on the water during a storm when trying to sleep at night. Other people find living on a boat too isolating, especially when traveling to far away destinations on by ocean. But in many cases some people thrive in this kind of atmosphere as they love the freedom of traveling abroad and simply living in the deep waters of the sea.

Many families enjoy living on a pontoon boat together even though the space isn’t quite as generous as some would like. Frequently, you can expect to find that certain things that are very different to living in a land-based home and they will take some getting used to no matter how great a sense of adventure you possess. For example, the dishes must be cleaned as you go, because there simply isn’t room on a countertop or in a dishwasher. Almost everything on a boat need to be strapped down or locked into place, especially things that can cause damage if they fall.

You also won’t be seeing anything special when it comes to the bathroom. You’ll likely to find only just enough room to get the job done with no room spared for any luxuries. Quality pontoon boat accessories can help your onboard comfort. You can imagine how limited the space is for two people on a houseboat let alone a small family. So it is safe to say that families should be able to live in close harmony and have strong relationships with each other before choosing to live on a boat. However, there are many great things about living onboard a boat, and these include saving money on heating, electric bills and water bills to mention just a few.

You can also use satellite for television enjoyment and wireless Internet if that’s your thing so don’t feel you’ll be totally lost to the world just because you don’t live on dry land. Something that is important when living on a boat is to have communication tools available even when traditional land line phones and mobile phones won’t work. It’s also important to learn the water rules when traveling to make your on board living experience as pleasurable, safe and legal as possible.
