According to Bryan Seti, national marketing and advertising manager for Yamaha Engine Corp., this is because when it comes to investing in a new boat or even personal watercraft, purchasing early gets the top deals.
“This past year, all of us sold out of our best-selling WaveRunners [personal watercrafts] prior to July 4 weekend as well as our most affordable WaveRunner, the particular VX110, was nearly out of stock in June,” Seti said. “It’s harder for buyers to find a deal any time supply is that low.”
Seti says that purchasing a boat or personal watercraft at a winter months boat show assures that that you find the motorboat you want because sellers are motivated to sell.
“Our dealers are receiving their own 2006 orders right now and those units take up a lot of space at the dealership,” said Seti. “Dealers often get motivated after they see a crowded income floor.”
